Hampton Consolidated School closed in 1975, with the opening of the larger Kennebecasis Valley High School in Quispamsis, NB. Over the next 17 years, the student population at K.V.H.S. continued to swell, until it exceeded 2000 students. The decision was made in the late 80's to build a new high school in Hampton to alleviate the pressure at K.V.H.S.
In the fall of 1992, the new Hampton High School opened its doors. In its first year, H.H.S. had a student body of over 600. Students from Hampton and surrounding areas had the opportunity to create the culture and traditions of a new school.
The first graduation ceremonies occurred on June 21, 1993, with the first graduation dance taking place on June 23, 1993. 150 graduates filled the stage of the Hampton Community Theatre at H.H.S. for the graduation ceremonies.
